Dr. Shana Gage is a triple board-certified psychiatrist with specialized expertise in child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, and addiction medicine. She is deeply committed to educating individuals and communities about mental health conditions and the profound ways they influence physical health, functioning, and overall wellness.
With extensive experience treating patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, Dr. Gage is devoted to dismantling the stigma that often surrounds addiction and mental illness—barriers that too frequently prevent individuals from accessing the compassionate, evidence-based care they deserve.
Grounded in her belief that healing rarely occurs in isolation, Dr. Gage prioritizes collaboration with families and support networks. Dr. Gage received her undergraduate education at Oakwood University and earned her medical degree from the Howard University College of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in psychiatry at Howard University Hospital, where she developed a strong foundation in the treatment of diverse and underserved populations.
Following residency, Dr. Gage pursued dual fellowship training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, gaining advanced expertise in the assessment and treatment of complex psychiatric and substance use disorders.
She is triple board certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Adult Psychiatry, and Addiction Psychiatry, reflecting her broad clinical proficiency and commitment to excellence in the field.
